Its best-known spot is the Balcón de Europa, a palm-lined viewpoint built out over the sea on a former fortress, with sweeping coastal views. Just outside town are the Nerja Caves, a vast cavern system of huge chambers and dramatic formations. Around them, small coves and beaches keep the town relaxed and family-friendly compared with the busier western resorts.
