Les Rotes is the rocky stretch of coast running south from Dénia, and Cala Les Rotes is one of its best-loved corners — a small, stony cove prized for clear water and snorkelling rather than for sand. The seabed and the natural pools among the rocks shelter a surprising variety of fish.
A scenic path follows the shore, partly walkable and partly drivable, threading past coves and miradors with the sea on one side and low cliffs on the other. It is a favourite route to cycle or stroll out from Dénia, ending at high viewpoints over the water.
Bring water shoes for the stones and a mask for the pools; facilities are minimal, which is part of the appeal. It is a quieter, more natural alternative to Dénia's town beaches just a short way north.
