Why visit the Torre de la Illeta
It is one of the most prominent landmarks along this stretch of shore, rising beside the town’s marina and promenade. Right next to the tower lies the Illeta dels Banyets, an archaeological site on a low rocky headland where Iberian, Roman and earlier remains have been uncovered, including rock-cut fish-breeding pools by the sea. Together they make an easy, rewarding stroll with clear coastal views. The tower itself opens only for occasional guided visits, but the setting, the seafront walk and the nearby beaches are reason enough to come.
