Costa Dorada Map
The Costa Dorada is the coast of Tarragona province, and the name is literal — the sand here is finer and paler than on most of the Mediterranean shore, and it shelves gently for a long way out. That single geological fact is why the coast filled with family resorts rather than cliff-top villas. The map below shows what is on it: Roman Tarraco at the northern end, the resort strip through Salou and Cambrils, and the Ebro delta flattening out to the south.
