Postiguet: the name and the spellings
Playa del Postiguet is the Castilian form and Platja del Postiguet the Valencian one; locals usually drop the article and just say el Postiguet. The name comes from postigo, the small gate in the city wall that once opened onto this stretch of sand. Bus stops and signs use both spellings, and Postiguet beach in English guides refers to exactly the same place.
