Why visit Playa del Postiguet
This urban beach is easily reached on foot from the city centre, which makes it a favourite weekend spot for locals and visitors alike. You can lounge on the sand or play beach volleyball, and the seafront is lined with restaurants and cafes serving local cuisine. Natural shade is limited, but the palm-lined Explanada promenade offers shaded benches nearby. It gets lively in summer — the longer Playa de San Juan is a more spacious alternative — and Alicante’s coastal tram makes it easy to reach.

- Best time to visit: late spring to early autumn; for a quieter, more spacious beach try Playa de San Juan nearby.
