Algar Waterfalls (Les Fonts de l’Algar)

The Algar waterfalls — Les Fonts de l'Algar — are a string of cascades and natural pools set in the hills above Callosa d'en Sarrià, a popular cooling-off spot through the Costa Blanca summer. A walking route follows the river up one side and back down the other.

The water is clear and cold, fed from the springs upstream, and several pools are open for swimming beneath the falls. Paths, steps and bridges make it easy to explore, though the rocks are slippery, so water shoes and care are sensible.

It is a managed site with an entrance fee, parking, toilets and picnic areas, which keeps it family-friendly. It gets busy in peak season — early or off-season visits are quieter — and pairs naturally with the mountain village of Guadalest just up the road.
