Why visit Morella
An hour or so inland from the beaches, Morella rises on a hill wrapped in more than two kilometres of medieval walls and topped by a castle. Cobbled streets, a Gothic basilica and an old aqueduct fill the town within, and the drive up through the Castellón mountains is half the reward. Regularly named one of the most beautiful towns in Spain, it is the coast's essential day trip inland.
