Marina Greenwich (Altea)

Marina Greenwich is the marina of Altea at the Mascarat, officially the Port Esportiu Luis Campomanes (Puerto Deportivo Luis Campomanes in Spanish). It lies about 5 km north-east of Altea’s old town, towards Calp, and the operator says it stands on longitude 0° 00′ 00″. Come for the quays, a meal by the boats or a boat trip, and the pebble beach beside it. Skip it if you want sand or an old town: this is a working marina in a residential estate.

Access and parking

By car: the marina is reached from the coast road between Altea and Calp; the operator points to the A-7 motorway along the coast and the A-3 towards Madrid (Marina Greenwich). The marina itself gives two different figures for the distance to Altea, 3 km on its home page and under 6 km on its marina page; in a straight line the old town is about 5 km away.

Parking: there is a car park by the marina entrance on OpenStreetMap, and the marina publishes its 2026 parking rates as a PDF on its tariffs page. Turisme Comunitat Valenciana also lists parking at Platja del Mascarat.

By tram: the nearest stop on TRAM d’Alacant line 9 (Benidorm–Dénia) is Olla de Altea, about 2.8 km from the marina in a straight line, so plan on a taxi or a long walk along the road. Check service on tramalacant.es before you travel.

By boat: the marina rents berths by the day and takes bookings through its berth booking form. It gives 65 miles to Ibiza and Formentera.

What to expect

Turisme Comunitat Valenciana describes the marina by the residential estate around it, with accommodation, restaurants and leisure on offer, and services for a harbour holding more than five hundred craft (Turisme CV, Marina Greenwich).

The quays and shops: the commercial area has restaurants, a terrace, a chill-out and lounge bar, cafés, boutiques, estate agents and boat dealers (Marina Greenwich, la marina). The home page adds pubs and a mini market.

On the water: the marina lists jet bikes and paddle surf among its activities. Greenwich Diving, a PADI and SSI centre, works from the port’s Edificio Comodoro and runs courses at all levels (Turisme CV, Greenwich Diving). Navegaria uses the port as a base for cruising yachts and motor boats, with or without a skipper, all year (Turisme CV, Navegaria).

Platja del Mascarat: the Punta del Mascarat and the marina’s northern breakwater form a sheltered inlet for swimming. Turisme CV describes boulders, clean water and a good sea bed for divers, and lists lifeguards, a restaurant, foot showers and parking (Turisme CV, Platja del Mascarat).

• Capitanía (harbour office): +34 965 842 200, marina@marinagreenwich.com. The marina says its mooring staff work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year (Marina Greenwich, services).
• Fuel: the fuel station was renewed in July 2026 under a supply deal with Repsol (Marina Greenwich news).
• Services listed by Turisme CV: toilets, showers, laundry, petrol and diesel, a crane and slipway, taxis, car hire and parking.

• The 2026 dispute: the operator obtained a 10-year extension of its concession, and berth holders and the Club Náutico Campomanes (founded in 1983) went to court over the terms (Alicante Plaza, ESdiario). In July 2026 the Generalitat mediated a truce until September and said the new mooring tariffs were not yet approved (Moncloa.com). Boat owners should ask Capitanía about current terms.

Best time to visit
