Terra Mítica is the largest theme park on the Costa Blanca, set in the hills just above Benidorm. Its theme is the ancient Mediterranean, with zones built around Egypt, Greece, Rome and Iberia — a landscape of replica temples, statues and gardens as much as a place of rides.
There is something for most ages: thrill coasters like Inferno and the Minotaur's Labyrinth for adrenaline seekers, gentler family attractions, and a couple of water rides that are very welcome on a hot day. Live shows — gladiators, pirates and stunt spectacles — run through the day on open-air stages.
Set on a hillside, the park also offers wide views over Benidorm and the sea. Food and drink are on the expensive side, and the big rides have height limits, so it pays to plan; mid-afternoon onwards is a good time to arrive and finish at the pool area.
