Costa Cálida Map: Mar Menor, Cartagena and Águilas

Costa Cálida Map

Murcia’s coast is called the warm coast, and the reason is the Mar Menor — Europe’s largest saltwater lagoon, cut off from the sea by the 21-kilometre sand bar of La Manga. The lagoon water runs several degrees warmer than the open Mediterranean and barely deepens, which is why this stretch fills with families and the open coast further south fills with divers.

How to use this map

The map is scoped to this coast: the pins are the destinations on it, not the whole of Spain. The filters above narrow it further — show only beaches, or only coves, viewpoints, castles, museums or natural parks.
